CEC Signs Contract with Guizhou Anda Aviation Forging for Gas Heating Tip-up Heat Treatment Furnace
Kennesaw, GA (November 13, 2006) – Guizhou Anda Aviation Forging Co. Ltd, a specialized aerospace forging company, has contracted with Consolidated Engineering Company (CEC) to build two Gas Heating Tip-up Heat Treatment Furnaces with Traversing Manipulator to modernize their Guiyang, China facility. These furnaces have been proven to hold a temperature of +/- 8° C over a range of 600° C to 1200° C which is required to process 3 meter diameter forged rings and will open up new markets for parts for Anda Aviation.
CEC proposed a heating and material handling concept that is a great improvement in efficiency and process over the current outdated equipment. The Traversing Manipulator will eventually service six Quenching and Tempering Furnaces in one row. Throughput on this new equipment will be increased many times over.
In terms of efficiency and cost savings, CEC’s designs call for a mobile manipulator that can handle large loads and serve multiple furnaces at the same time. In addition, regenerative burners were added to the equipment to reduce natural gas costs by 50%.
